NOTD-Happy Easter!

I have been wearing these all week and have had so many people comment on them, so when better to do a blogpost?

Before you gasp at the state I just want to remind you that these went on on Sunday night so they are bound to have some marks etc.

All I did was paint Barry m berry ice cream in two coats per all my nails. Once that was dry I painted a white semicircle on the tips of my ring finger and thumb (using 17 mini skirt) and extended that up with a mail art brush to create cute little ears. For the pink ears and nose I used a pink striper (la colors art deco in baby pink). And just a black nail polish with a nail art brush for the eyes and whiskers. This is such a cute design and have use it every spring time for a couple of years. If you want to see a demo there are lots of YouTube videos on it!

I would also like to apologise for being so inconsistent. I'm hoping that will change soon, just bare with me. I cannot apologise enough.

NOTD-fuchsia fanatic

Hello beauties!

China glaze fuchsia fanatic is a lovely colour, is a blue toned pink that I think works well with all skin tones, but is fantastic for spring right through until the end of summer (who actually only wears certain colours in certain seasons though, because I certainly don't!) I wouldn't say it's the most long lasting nail polish I have used, but stick a decent topcoat on over the top and you're good to go. Even without a topcoat it is super shiny and glossy, so if your not going to have to colour on for long (like me) then I don't really see the need for a topcoat. This colour did need three coats though, which is fine if your not in a rush, or impatient!

The ring finger has the base colour on and then a single coat of revlon ruby ribbon, it definitely needs a colour underneath if you are only going to do one coat, but I'm sure it would build up to being opaque as it is completely packed with different glitters. The glitter is mainly red, although there is some pink and also some silver. It's a mixture of normal glitter particles as well string glitter too. The mix of colours and shape means it gives great dimension and it isn't just another red glitter nail polish.

I just love these bright colours like this are making me just want it to be full spring weather. Yep that's what would make me happy, sun, bright and pastel nail polishes. What are you looking forward to about spring?

February favourites!

Hello beauties!

I love reading favourites posts! So for that my first favourite this month is favourites posts.. Is that sad? I think so but I don't really care tbh.

Revlon Photoready foundation has been good to me this month.. I love this foundation and my shade is 002 vanilla if that has any meaning to you? I'm mac shade NC15 for reference. This foundation has tiny particles of silver shimmer in it, but it doesn't really notice unless you are really up close and looking for it. But those tiny shimmer particles are fab if you need to look more awake in the mornings! They give you a glowy sort of look, and are great for early mornings where your skins looking a little dull. I have oily skin so I thought that it wouldn't last all day, but I have no need for touch ups so that's a complete bonus!

The elf cool bronzer is next up, and I love this because its completely matte, so it works as a lovely contour. It's like a cute little palette it's got a white which is slightly ashy, but if you blend it well it's a great natural matte highlight because there is no shimmer. The lighter brown shade is great for all over bronzing and the darker for a heavy evening contour. It also has a blush sort of shade that means this product is great for travelling, as well as having a large mirror!

I had the no7 extravagant volume mascara before when it was the square brush, but the smell put me off, I probably used it about twice, it made me gag so much. But they rereleased the product a while back with a different brush, and no nasty smell! The brush on this is fairly long so it coats all the lashes easily, and you only need one coat for a normal everyday look. It doesn't flake or smudge but it does take a little more work than the average mascara to get off. I love this and for me it has no drawbacks.

The fashionista concealer is pretty rubbish as far a covering goes, which defeats the point right? Good job I don't use it that way then. I pop this down the centre of my nose and on the tops of my cheekbones as well as a little bit in the inner corner of the eye, and it acts as a brightening product. Now I wouldn't suggest you go out of your way to purchase this, but I am just so happy I tried it got this purpose otherwise it would just be sitting in my drawer untouched.. (I have this in the lightest shade just so that you know)

I have also been absolutely loving using my real techniques buffing brush for foundation, I have had this since about July, and have only ever used it for powder, but in the end of January I finally gave in and tried it out for foundation and I haven't looked back, if you haven't tried it for that then seriously you should!

My favourite lip product this month has been the revlon just bitten lip stain and balm in forbidden. I love this because it lasts for about 6 hours,(if not more!) and although it fades in time, it lasts longer than your average lip product. It also has the lip balm on one end so you can keep your lips hydrated throughout the day without having to put your germy fingers (like on public transport!) into a pot, and near your mouth, because, lets be honest who likes being ill?

For skincare I have been enjoying two products. The first is the st Ives facial scrub, I love this because it removes all gross skin, but doesn't leave you with a residue. It has the perfect amount of abrasiveness (is that actually a word?). It's just lovely, and the cold has suddenly hit my skin, and made it very dry, so I had to get a new moisturiser and picked up the superdrug vitamin e night cream. I adore this stuff! It's hydrating but doesn't leave you with a gross film when you wake up, it just feels like it has actually worked. My skin would be a hot mess without this.

And finally a heat protectant. I used to skip this step but I realised it was completely damaging my hair, I mean it's not like I didn't have them lying around. But I have been using my ghd one, it helps to hold my hair straight for longer, and as its designed for dry, course hair I feel like it is slightly hydrating for the ends too, not massively but it has been helping keeping them from tangling together as much.. (I'm sorry I forgot to include this is the picture it's just a goldy/bronzey coloured bottle)

So they are my favourites, but what have you been loving using this month?

Thanks for reading!

NOTD

My nails aren't in the best condition.. Scratch that, they are in a terrible condition, but that's what you get for putting acrylics on and deciding after a week deciding that you no longer want them aye? It's safe to say I need to take a little more care of them if I'm going to start blogging again..
Anyway just a little nail of the day today, so here is a Barry m nail paint in raspberry, it's such a lovely colour, and you only need one or two coats to get it to its full opacity, which is great if your in a rush! I loved this colour completely throughout autum, I would have it on my nails constantly so it was truly loved.
And on my to ring finger is just a random old nail polish that's silver, but something similar I have is Barry m silver foil..
