NOTD-Happy Easter!

I have been wearing these all week and have had so many people comment on them, so when better to do a blogpost?

Before you gasp at the state I just want to remind you that these went on on Sunday night so they are bound to have some marks etc.

All I did was paint Barry m berry ice cream in two coats per all my nails. Once that was dry I painted a white semicircle on the tips of my ring finger and thumb (using 17 mini skirt) and extended that up with a mail art brush to create cute little ears. For the pink ears and nose I used a pink striper (la colors art deco in baby pink). And just a black nail polish with a nail art brush for the eyes and whiskers. This is such a cute design and have use it every spring time for a couple of years. If you want to see a demo there are lots of YouTube videos on it!

I would also like to apologise for being so inconsistent. I'm hoping that will change soon, just bare with me. I cannot apologise enough.

NOTD-fuchsia fanatic

Hello beauties!

China glaze fuchsia fanatic is a lovely colour, is a blue toned pink that I think works well with all skin tones, but is fantastic for spring right through until the end of summer (who actually only wears certain colours in certain seasons though, because I certainly don't!) I wouldn't say it's the most long lasting nail polish I have used, but stick a decent topcoat on over the top and you're good to go. Even without a topcoat it is super shiny and glossy, so if your not going to have to colour on for long (like me) then I don't really see the need for a topcoat. This colour did need three coats though, which is fine if your not in a rush, or impatient!

Without flash..

The ring finger has the base colour on and then a single coat of revlon ruby ribbon, it definitely needs a colour underneath if you are only going to do one coat, but I'm sure it would build up to being opaque as it is completely packed with different glitters. The glitter is mainly red, although there is some pink and also some silver. It's a mixture of normal glitter particles as well string glitter too. The mix of colours and shape means it gives great dimension and it isn't just another red glitter nail polish.

I just love these bright colours like this are making me just want it to be full spring weather. Yep that's what would make me happy, sun, bright and pastel nail polishes. What are you looking forward to about spring?

February favourites!

Hello beauties!

I love reading favourites posts! So for that my first favourite this month is favourites posts.. Is that sad? I think so but I don't really care tbh.

Revlon Photoready foundation has been good to me this month.. I love this foundation and my shade is 002 vanilla if that has any meaning to you? I'm mac shade NC15 for reference. This foundation has tiny particles of silver shimmer in it, but it doesn't really notice unless you are really up close and looking for it. But those tiny shimmer particles are fab if you need to look more awake in the mornings! They give you a glowy sort of look, and are great for early mornings where your skins looking a little dull. I have oily skin so I thought that it wouldn't last all day, but I have no need for touch ups so that's a complete bonus!

The elf cool bronzer is next up, and I love this because its completely matte, so it works as a lovely contour. It's like a cute little palette it's got a white which is slightly ashy, but if you blend it well it's a great natural matte highlight because there is no shimmer. The lighter brown shade is great for all over bronzing and the darker for a heavy evening contour. It also has a blush sort of shade that means this product is great for travelling, as well as having a large mirror!

I had the no7 extravagant volume mascara before when it was the square brush, but the smell put me off, I probably used it about twice, it made me gag so much. But they rereleased the product a while back with a different brush, and no nasty smell! The brush on this is fairly long so it coats all the lashes easily, and you only need one coat for a normal everyday look. It doesn't flake or smudge but it does take a little more work than the average mascara to get off. I love this and for me it has no drawbacks.

The fashionista concealer is pretty rubbish as far a covering goes, which defeats the point right? Good job I don't use it that way then. I pop this down the centre of my nose and on the tops of my cheekbones as well as a little bit in the inner corner of the eye, and it acts as a brightening product. Now I wouldn't suggest you go out of your way to purchase this, but I am just so happy I tried it got this purpose otherwise it would just be sitting in my drawer untouched.. (I have this in the lightest shade just so that you know)

I have also been absolutely loving using my real techniques buffing brush for foundation, I have had this since about July, and have only ever used it for powder, but in the end of January I finally gave in and tried it out for foundation and I haven't looked back, if you haven't tried it for that then seriously you should!

My favourite lip product this month has been the revlon just bitten lip stain and balm in forbidden. I love this because it lasts for about 6 hours,(if not more!) and although it fades in time, it lasts longer than your average lip product. It also has the lip balm on one end so you can keep your lips hydrated throughout the day without having to put your germy fingers (like on public transport!) into a pot, and near your mouth, because, lets be honest who likes being ill?

For skincare I have been enjoying two products. The first is the st Ives facial scrub, I love this because it removes all gross skin, but doesn't leave you with a residue. It has the perfect amount of abrasiveness (is that actually a word?). It's just lovely, and the cold has suddenly hit my skin, and made it very dry, so I had to get a new moisturiser and picked up the superdrug vitamin e night cream. I adore this stuff! It's hydrating but doesn't leave you with a gross film when you wake up, it just feels like it has actually worked. My skin would be a hot mess without this.

And finally a heat protectant. I used to skip this step but I realised it was completely damaging my hair, I mean it's not like I didn't have them lying around. But I have been using my ghd one, it helps to hold my hair straight for longer, and as its designed for dry, course hair I feel like it is slightly hydrating for the ends too, not massively but it has been helping keeping them from tangling together as much.. (I'm sorry I forgot to include this is the picture it's just a goldy/bronzey coloured bottle)

So they are my favourites, but what have you been loving using this month?

NOTD

My nails aren't in the best condition.. Scratch that, they are in a terrible condition, but that's what you get for putting acrylics on and deciding after a week deciding that you no longer want them aye? It's safe to say I need to take a little more care of them if I'm going to start blogging again..
Anyway just a little nail of the day today, so here is a Barry m nail paint in raspberry, it's such a lovely colour, and you only need one or two coats to get it to its full opacity, which is great if your in a rush! I loved this colour completely throughout autum, I would have it on my nails constantly so it was truly loved.
And on my to ring finger is just a random old nail polish that's silver, but something similar I have is Barry m silver foil..

NOTD- There's no smoke without fire..

Hello beauties!

Today on my nails I have two colours again, becoming a little bit obsessed with putting a different colour on my ring fingers. I am a strange one.

The main colour I have on is a 17 lasting fix nail polish in smoke signal. This is an extremely dark grey, almost verging on black it's lovely and smokey, yet has a lovely shiny finish (although this also looks great with a matte topcoat!). Lasting finish isn't that lasting though, I find this chips quite a bit very quickly without a topcoat, although I love that it's so opaque.

With flash..

I paired the smokey grey with a bright pop of colour as it makes it stand out a lot more, the colour I used is fire coral by elf. I needed about three coats to get this to be opaque but even though it did take three coats it didn't take that long to dry. It is a red toned coral rather than having a more pinky hue like a lot do. It lasts a couple of days, which is great because it means that you don't have to touch it up if you're busy (or just lazy when it comes to touch ups like me).

Without flash..

I love this combination, and I much prefer this tone of coral than the others I own, but let me know what your favourite coral nail polish is (or just you're favourite colour in general!)

A simple pop of colour can change a manicure completely, so what's your favourite way to change up your average manicure?

My 5 top eyeliners

Hello beauties!

I personally think that eyeliner just finishes a look off, whether it's for a little bit of definition smudged into the lower lash line or a classic winged liner look. So today I'm going to tell you my favourite five eyeliners.

First up for everyday I love the Rimmel scandaleyes waterproof kohl liner in 005. A nude or white eye pencil is a must have for me because it instantly wakes up tired eyes, as it conceals the redness tiredness cases on the waterline. It's a skin tone colour so it doesn't give anything else other than a brightening effect. It also works great as an under eyebrow highlight if you blend it a little with warm fingers.

Next I have a No7 amazing eyes pencil in 10 brown (eyeliners have such I inventive names) I use this if I have darker eye makeup on in my waterline, if I want definition but not as harsh as black, it doesn't have amazing staying power but it lasts quite a while, and it's a great subtle colour.

The next eyeliner that's one of my favourites is the soap and glory supercat I love this for smudging through the lower lashes for a little bit of definition, it lasts all day! Because its a felt tip you don't have to worry about constantly dipping it in like other liquid eyeliners, and it has a really thin tip so it's easy to place, as well as being just like a pen so it's easy to hold as well as having complete control.

Finally the last eyeliner that I love is a sleek ink pot, this is in dominatrix, they used to sell other colours but I don't think they do anymore? This is what I use in my waterline, and tightline if I want to use a black, it lasts for such a long time if you set it with a matte black eyeshadow too (my favourite it topshops blackboard). I don't like this for winged liner though because it smudges all over the place on me. I have had this for around a gear and its only just going slightly dry, so it's lasts a long time too! But I think next I want to try mac fluid line in blacktrack.

These are in order I have mentioned them, from top to bottom..

What are your favourite eyeliners that you would recommend?

NOTD

Im Back with another NOTD today, I'm aware my last post was also a NOTD and I promise I'm going to do some different posts soon too, but for now this is what I have for you!

Today I have opi ski teal we drop (don't you just love opi names!) on most of my nails, it's such a lovely colour for the colder months, and seen as though it's still freezing here I thought why not! I love this colour. It's just an extremely dark teal colour, it is more of a green toned teal rather than a blue toned teal. Now I have definitely said teal too much in my head and it's starting not to sound like a real word anymore. The brushes on the opi polishes are great too, because they are so wide they don't take much work to get a full coat. The only downfall of this polish is that it needs two coats to get a full cover, but at least it's still only two right?

Without flash..

On my ring fingers I have a topshop nail polish in cut the mustard. This is great because it is such a unique colour, I can't really say its something that every brand will have, and that I have seen it before. It does only need one coat! Despite that I'm not keen on wearing it on all of my nails at it seems to make my skin appear a different tone, that really doesn't look right. I don't know maybe I'm just being silly?

With flash..

Some people might not like these two colours together but I think that it's a great combination and they compliment each other well..

Do you have any nail polish combinations that others might not be so keen on? And what brand has the brushes you prefer?
